Annual Fund Drive 2009-2010 Begins

Dear Parents, Grandparents and Friends of Grace:

Grace Episcopal Day School has been truly blessed: blessed by our new campus, blessed by an outstanding faculty and staff, blessed by the children we teach, blessed by our positive relationship with a supportive church and, most importantly, blessed by you, our dedicated parents, grandparents and friends. We have also experienced first-hand the love of our Grace family by coming together to encourage and support each other through the recent tragedy in our school community. While this has brought great sadness for all of us, we must continue to flourish by planning for the future knowing that God?s presence is in the midst of us.
For the past ten years the Annual Fund Campaign has provided the much needed revenue to fill the 20% gap between tuition and the true cost of educating a child at GEDS. This gap is in place so that we can keep tuition as low as possible. It is our hope that you will do what you can to make up this difference by giving an Annual Fund gift to the school that is fully tax deductible.
Through this yearly campaign, we are able to support our talented teachers and the programs that make this school special. A gift to the GEDS Annual Fund is an endorsement of what we do and the way we do it; the reward for these gifts are happy, healthy kids who can't wait to get to school each day.
Outside entities gauge how supportive our school family is by looking at participation percentages from various constituencies. Before a charitable organization will give to an independent school, it wants to know that the school does what it can to support itself. For instance, last year we received a $40,000 grant from the Lucy Gooding Foundation toward Reflective Practice and this year another $50,000 for the start up of a middle school. Annual Fund support was an important influence in their decision.

We have a track record of receiving 100% participation from our faculty, staff, Board of Trustees and Vestry members. Last year we reached our goal of $40,000. This year it remains our goal to raise $40,000 with 100% participation. You may choose to designate your dollars by indicating your preference on the Donation Form or use the Donate button at the top of this page.

Sincerely,

Martha Milton
Head of School
